Mr. Deshmukh, Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences is a former two-term Chief Minister of Maharashtra and hails from Lattur. He is currently a memeber of the Rajya Sabha.
Union Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh passed away in Chennai on Tuesday afternoon. He was brought to the city by air ambulance on August 6 on ventilator support.
